Horticultural Hall was the scene of many social events during the early 1900s. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported, “On Monday, Mrs. Mason’s dancing class will meet at Horticultural Hall.” A similar note in 1914 read, “Society is preparing for the annual bal masque to be given at the Horticultural Hall on February 24th.”

In the years following the fair, Fairmount Park’s Horticultural Hall continued to be famous for its collection of tree ferns and tropical plants. The glass conservatory displayed sago palms from the collections of Robert Morris and George Washington. Frequent flower shows of all kinds attracted visitors with an interest in the outstanding floral exhibits.
